Wah Wah 45s are proud to present an afrobeat, funk and hip hop spectacular at BrixtonJAMM featuring an extended live show from recent Wah Wah signing and afrobeat legend, Dele Sosimi, complete with his full size Afrobeat Orchestra!

Dele Sosimi was schooled and raised in Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s shadow at the height of early 70s afrobeat. Having been chosen by Fela to join his band at a somewhat tender age, he was still a young man when sharing Fela’s Glastonbury stage in 1984, and became Musical Director for both Fela’s Egypt 80 and Femi Kuti’s Positive Force.

Revolutionary UK hip hop veteran, Ty, now signed to Tru Thoughts Records, has been taking both his DJ and live shows across the globe for over a decade now, working and performing with De La Soul, Tony Allen, Arrested Development and our very own Dele Sosimi!

This untouchable South London MC will be performing cuts from his recent LP,Special Kind of Fool, as well as showcasing some exciting new material, and who knows, may even step up to the stage and join the afrobeat party too!

And as if that wasn’t enough, we also welcome Bristol DJ royalty, Boca 45, who’ll be dropping some of the finest hip hop and funk around Ty’s set, and joining us later in Room 2 for a freestyle selection. Plus we have the bonus of Afrobeat Vibration resident DJ Koichi Sakai who’ll be keeping the tropical party vibes going either side of Dele Sosimi’s epic live show.
