An immigrant from Czechoslovachia, Milos Forman came to Hollywood after dazzling Czech audiences with a couple of non-conventional films - Firemen's Ball and Loves of a Blonde. A black comedy and a drama, his Czech films however were a far cry from the powerful force he was about to unleash in Hollywood with the adaptation of Ken Kessey's novel, One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest. The film snatched more than 7 Oscars (including Best Director and Best Picture of 1975), being surpassed only by Ben Hur (59) and the more recent (and dubious) Titanic (97) and Lord of the Rings (03) which won 11 Oscars each. However, the "Big Five" (best picture, director, actor, actress, and writing) have only been given to 3 films ever: It Happened One Night (34 - which we had the pleasure of seeing a few weeks ago), Cuckoo's Nest, and Silence of the Lambs (91) :)

Cluj Movie Nights are loc in fiecare miercuri la Gambrinus Pub (Piata Unirii 25) la orele 20. Gambrinus Pub recomanda ca cei interesati sa rezerve locuri in avans la numarul 0755-87-09-25. In sala sunt doar 80 de locuri la mese si 20 pe scaune. Gambrinus de asemenea recomanda pentru a continua sa ofere aceste evenimente gratuit ca fiecare invitat sa consume produse de la bar in valoare de cel putin 10lei/persoana.
