International Live Music Conference 2019. MAR.5-8Grab a broomstick and get ready to fly because the agenda of this year's International Live Music Conference (ILMC) is now live! From ticketing, agency, investment, and management, to diversity, streaming, digital marketing and tech, it's a packed edition. 
 
Wednesday 6 March
 
ILMC’s bumper opening session, The Open Forum: With or without EU, sees Live Nation’s Phil Bowdery lead an all-star cast through the last 12 months in the business, before Partnerships: I'm with the brand explores the next decade of activations at live events, and Ticketing: Is selling out losing out? asks whether it’s time we lost our obsession with sell-outs.
 
The Manager’s Office: Conjuring careers sees a line-up of prominent artist managers take the temperature of the live business; Festival Forum: Fan first?asks whether we’re treating our customers correctly; and Country Music: Walking the line considers how Nashville’s sound and ethos are influencing all genres in the business.
 
Also on Wednesday, workshop sessions include the latest concepts and case studies in VIP & Upselling, insight into some fascinating potential new revenue streams with Tourism & Destination Business and updates on the rapidly evolving worlds of social media and online promotion in the Digital Marketing session.

Wednesday chairs and hosts include Jacqui Harris (AEG Presents); Dale Ballentine (Eventim UK); Dr Julia Jones & Danny Keir (Sound Diplomacy); Anna-Sophie MertensPhil Bowdery & Ellie Parker (Live Nation); Patrick Ross (Music Ally); Fiona McGugan (MMF); CodruÈ›a Vulcu(Artmania); Dany Hassenstein (Paleo); and Tim Chambers (TJ Chambers Consultancy).
 
Thursday 7 March
 
On Thursday, The Agency Business 2019 asks who really has the power in the business, New Technology: It’s a kind of magic presents the latest concepts and products in quick-fire format, and Diversity: Breaking the spell asks how the business can encourage a more diverse workforce.
 
Touring Entertainment: New illusions profiles the best new non-music shows on the market, Think Tank: The immigrants invites three luminaries to share their experiences of time in exile, and The Venue’s Venue: Close up magic looks at new programming and pre-show entertainment.
 
Security: The new threats explores cyber security, drones and insider threats; Industry Investment: The power brokers considers external investment in the business; Secondary Ticketing: The fightback looks at recent anti-resale successes; and Accessibility: Unlocking the purple pound examines the industry’s attitudes towards deaf and disabled fans.
 
Thursday’s schedule of workshops includes Streaming, which looks at what live can gain from online music consumption, and demystifying and understanding an overabundance of information in D is for Data.
 
And of course, the grand finale to Thursday’s schedule is the late Breakfast Meeting, which sees host and raconteur Ed Bicknell interview The Who frontman and music legend Roger Daltrey.

Friday 8 March
 
ILMC’s revamped Friday schedule, which takes place under the name Futures Forum, features a Buddhist monk, a super-tout, and some of the industry’s fastest-rising executives. It’s a dynamic schedule…
 
The day mixes panel discussions, TED-style, 15-minute Soapbox Sessions, workshops, mentor sessions and more. All registered ILMC delegates can attend Futures Forum, while young professionals (aged 30 and under) can take advantage of the subsidised day pass (more info here). 

Confirmed speakers include: Karma Bertelsen (Kilimanjaro Live), Aino-Maria Paasivirta (Fullsteam Agency), Mike Jones (MJR Group), Mike Malak (Coda Agency), marketing consultant Emily ScogginsJenni Cochrane (AEI Group), Felix Canetty-Clarke (Sony / ATV), Tristan Hunt (AFEM), Fiona McGugan (MMF), Achal Dhillon (Killing Moon), Steven Hancock (MelodyVR), and Jules O’Riordan (Judge Jules).
 
The final batch of conference sessions and the full line-up of guest speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.
