Aleksandar Rajic (guitar, vocals, Northern Revival): I'm the main offender. A few years ago, me and Petar (vocals) played with other bands and we met at a concert, although he does not remember because we were too drunk :)
We did not keep in touch but when I made a band with a drummer and bass player in October 2012, I found him and he agreed to join us. Several drummers and bass players have passed through the band until we came to this crew.
Davor (bass) and his ex-band had rehearsals in the same studio as we do and that's where we met him. A few months later he started to play with us. Last change on drums was in Spring 2014. when Marko came to study in Novi Sad... and in the same year, the band started to take things seriously, recording songs for an EP: Mouth Full Of Dirt and getting gigs…

RiCo for GBOB Romania: What does Northern Revival mean to you?
Aleksandar Rajic (guitar, vocals): For me personally the band is my escape from reality and problems I have in regular life - and where I can be who I really am. The band is made up of friends, socializing, enjoying music, something where everything depends only on you and your team and no-one else can influence it.

RiCo for CZB.ro: How many gigs have you had; what cities have you played in?
Aleksandar Rajic (Northern Revival): Hmm, I do not know the exact number, I only know that we have passed 40. Last year we had 22 dates for an EP promo tour in Serbia, Bosnia and Hungary (Novi Sad, Belgrade, Subotica, Nis, Banja Luka, Szeged, Tiszaalpar, Valjevo, Becej…) on the Life Surviving Tips Tour 2016... so far for this year we have scheduled 11 cities and there will be more soon.

CZB: Tell me about an interesting situation you had on the road with the band?
Aleksandar Rajic (Northern Revival): There are great age differences in the band, so we often have funny situations. It was for one of the first gigs that we had to travel to Bosnia. We had problems at work so we did not leave as planned, and we were late.
Being in a hurry, we forgot to fill up with fuel. Half an hour later as we were climbing on mount Fruska Gora - the car was stopped because we ran out of gas. Marko was hitchhiking to the next oil station which was about 20 km away. He had to buy balloons with water, spill the water in order to have where to pour fuel and hitchhiked back. In the meantime, we waited two hours on top of the mountain, where there was no cell phone signal …we freaked out.
But at the end we managed to get to the festival show on time … somehow :)

CZB: How do you write your music?
Aleksandar Rajic (Northern Revival): I usually get riffs and ideas from home and we work on that on rehearsals, but as time goes by more and more music comes from jamming because now we know very well each other like persons or musicians. Petar writes lyrics and mainly about the everyday life that surrounds us and how he is perceived.
---
CZB: What is the Serbian music scene like in 2016?
Aleksandar Rajic (Northern Revival): Many good new albums and every year a successful new name debuts.
---
CZB: Is there anything that you think should be done better in Serbia to better promote young bands?
Aleksandar Rajic (Northern Revival): There are some people on TV and radio stations trying to do something good for young bands but we need more. No distinction should be made between the bands that sing in Serbian and English because I think those who sing in Serbian are in a better position and have easier access to major festivals and TV and radio shows.

---
CZB: If you could have a superhuman power, what would this be?
Aleksandar Rajic (Northern Revival): I would like to travel back in time and go to some Led Zeppelin or Thin Lizzy concert :)
---
CZB: What is your favorite book and your favorite movie?
Aleksandar Rajic (Northern Revival): Favorite book: The Queen Of The Damned (Anne Rice)…I love TV series because only TV series fans can fully enjoy the story… I don’t have a favorite movie, some of the ones I like are: Almost Famous, High Fidelity, Lavirint (Serbian movie) etc.
---
CZB: What is your aim as a band?
Aleksandar Rajic (Northern Revival): To enjoy the music, to travel as much as possible outside of Serbia, to play for a long time, to record more albums…
---
CZB: Why did you sign up for GBOB România 2016?
Aleksandar Rajic (Northern Revival): We signed up to GBOB to see how it is to play in Romania because we have not played in your country so far, to present our music, to have fun, maybe make some contacts and try to win the contest.
