Twoas4 (IT)

We sing in different languages; writing is a kind of escape, the words are just words, English is not really English, Italian is our idiom but the words tell us images not completely understandable, for that kind of idea that we want just to paint but not to describe in detail!

Also Spanish has a kind of color and is good enough only for certain meanings and atmospheres. Romanian is a different kind of italian with a different inner melody and has the strength of an ancient land so close to us, so our two female voices are from Romania (Ramnicu Valcea and Piatra Neamt).

Music is all around and the words are only the right "esca" to place better notes in the right place! Singing is a sort of ritual and the music explains the correct meaning "she" has.

Twoas4 will be participating in the GBOB Romania Live Band Competition and will be on stage at the 2015 GBOB Moldova Semifinal on September 19th in the Underground Pub in Iași.

RiCo for GBOB Romania: How did the band get together? 

Oscar Corsetti (guitar, Twoas4): The band was born in 2008, from an idea I had; the project was looking for a drummer and the drummer I met was Alan Massimiliano Schiaretti, the first one I have meet in Grosseto when I changed work and the place I lived.

CZB: What does twoas4 mean to you?  

Oscar Corsetti (guitar, Twoas4): The name is due to the fact that we started to play in two (me and Alan); but each one of us was using two instruments … “guitar or bass guitar and voice for me”, “drums and keybords for Alan”, so we played as a duo but we used 4 instruments, this is the first reason for the name… the other one is that we should like to be a quartet.

CZB: Where have you played up to now / is this your first gig in Romania?  

Oscar Corsetti (Twoas4): We have played only in Italy, in little but important clubs, all around Italy,… Roma, Torino, Genova, Imperia… and so on… sometimes with important guests of Italian music,… like Filippo Gatti, or Shonwald… but we have never played in Romania, this will be the first time.

CZB: Tell me an interesting story on the road with the band.  

Oscar Corsetti (Twoas4): Wow !... Nice question… The first thing I remember is when we have decided (me and Alan) 3 years ago, to play in two different gigs at the same night, in two different places in a distance of 40 km between each other… So the first gig was at 8 pm and was like playin’ for rehearsals, and the second one, near midnight has been like a real concert… but the problem was that we played for 4 or 5 hours almost, I don’t remember, but there was no one that could help us to bring and set the instruments… Amplifiers, drums,… keyboards… speakers… and blah blah blah… So after that night we understand that it is good to play if they pay you a little more than they pay someone coming from nowhere that is looking for a simple job… the music should not give alms!!!

CZB: How do you compose your music?  

Oscar Corsetti (Twoas4): I compose my music, like if I’m making something that I should like to listen!... something that someone could compose from somewhere just for me! And most of the time I haven’t a real message to transmit but only a kind of notice that can ring in your ears.

CZB: What is your Hit song, or the song that most fans love the most?  

Oscar Corsetti (Twoas4): We don’t have a hit, I think, but two are the tracks most played, one used for a compilation and the name is meds; and the other one for our first video, that is called amazing lie.

CZB: What is the Italian Music Scene like in 2015?  

Oscar Corsetti (Twoas4): I think that now, in Italy, most of the times, they make or produce music like the one that is good to charm cobras.

CZB: If you could have a superhuman power, what would this be? Oscar Corsetti (Twoas4): The one that can permit me to fly like a falcon.

CZB: What is your favorite book and movie, and why?  

Oscar Corsetti (Twoas4): My favourite book is de ars venandi cum avibus by Federico II of Svevia, ‘cause is about falconry, ‘cause has beautifull illustrations inside, ‘cause it is written in old latin, and I love it. The film, I think is:… Once upon a time in America by Sergio Leone,… a beautifull story about life and friendship and about how this two things can really be extraordinary and unpredictable at the same time.

CZB: What is your aim with the band? 

Oscar Corsetti (Twoas4): To make good music for the ones that want to listen to us.

CZB: Why did you sign up to GBOB Romania 2015?  

Oscar Corsetti (Twoas4): Because we are near to make the master of our second album Mare Gluma that we have made just to present in Romania!... Because I love your country that’s a little more excitin’ and truer than Italy is, at this moment.
