GARY LUCAS just returned to NYC from a concert performing "The Music of Jeff Buckley and Gary Lucas" with the 60 piece Metropole Orchestra

before a packed Paradiso in Amsterdam 9/2/12.

This historic concert featured Italian vocalist Alessio Franchini

and Dutch vocalists Jolene Grunberg, Yori Swart, and Benjamin Van Der Plas performing "Grace" and 11 more Lucas/Buckley songs conducted by Steve Sidwell.

On Sunday Sept. 9th, Gary Lucas travels to the Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of "Greetings from Tim Buckley",

a film about Gary's late partner Jeff Buckley's early days in NYC

directed by Dan Algrant

and starring Penn Badgley as Jeff Buckley and Tony Award-winner Frank Wood as Gary Lucas

A new book by Gary Lucas about working with Jeff Buckley will be published in Italy at the end of September entitled

"Touched by Grace--La Mia Music con Jeff Buckley" (Arcana)

This week marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band's final album

"Ice Cream for Crow" (1982, Virgin/Epic)
