Kid Acne returns with his fourth studio album and another cinematic voyage across the wild frontier. ‘HAVE A WORD’ is Eddy Fresh’s signature plain English firepower, teaming up with producer Spectacular Diagnostics (Westside Gunn, Vic Spencer,

Conway the Machine, Nolan the Ninja) for a South Yorks/Illinois soundclash.

Quickly understanding the emcee’s psyche, Spectacular Diagnostics furnishes his unique Moom-bap™ soundscape, removing nuts and bolts from speakers that Acne is famous for, as well as concentrating the BPMs so the pop culture streams of consciousness start to trip. Kid Acne’s affinity with cult rap clan New Kingdom continues, with appearances from Nosaj and Sebash, and culminating in the group’s first official reunion since '96 on the closing track ‘ANCIENT SEA KINGS’, complete with additional production from long time friend and collaborator, Scotty Hard. UK headliners Juga-Naut and Juice Aleem also chuck in their 2pence worth.

‘HAVE A WORD’ sees Kid Acne and LEX reunited after the ‘LEXOLIUM’ series back in 2001, and 2007’s LP ‘ROMANCE AIN’T DEAD’ being celebrated as “an injection of stoopid Steel City freshness”. An instantly distinctive back catalogue of DIY, post-Millennium hip-hop, has gone from playing in 'RAP TRAFFIC' and pouring ‘COUNCIL POP’ to leading the charge of ‘ATTACK THE MONOLITH’ as part of B-boy outsiders MONGRELS. This has run parallel with his stalwart status within the international Street Art movement, having painted large-scale murals across continents and exhibited extensively over the past two decades. The new album ties in with his latest solo exhibition, also called ‘HAVE A WORD’, taking pride of place in Sheffield through September.
