Leif Erikson have unveiled their new EP, ’21 Grams Of Soul’. The four-track collection features brand new track ‘Night Bus’ alongside acclaimed singles ‘Matter’, ‘Second Curve’, and ’21 Grams’. Leif Erikson recently wrapped a UK tour, including a date at London’s Tufnell Park Dome.

’21 Grams Of Soul’ is a labour of love born out of Leif Erikson’s hard graft, dedication, and commitment to their craft. The consistent theme of the record, says lead singer Sam, is “existential, a big question of what we are and whether there is any real purpose.I don't like to prescribe but I feel like society is in flux at the moment. Trying to find meaning in a routine and trying to make the correct choices feels clouded by change and uncertainty. The songs are about trying to find your rightful place in the world.”

The band’s recent period of experimentation and regrouping shows further fruits in the final track to be revealed from the EP – ‘Night Bus’. The track is “a chronological story of a night after work. I tried to catch the last tube home but ended up on the night bus. I always find them strange and fascinating places. It's an observation of London. A night bus is a great way to see the city but you get these crazy contrasts of beautiful and ugly things.”

As ’21 Grams Of Soul’ showcases, ultimately Leif Erikson seek to take the disaffection of modern life and turn it into a form of ascension through the power of music. They’re still only at the foot of their career but like their explorer namesake, Leif Erikson are what happens when you find yourself – however you get there – right where you are supposed to be.
