AUGUST ALSINA

The New Orleans-raised R&B artist emerged onto the scene in 2014 with the release of his first single, "I Luv This Shit," which peaked at No. 48 on the Billboard Hot 100. Shortly after, AUGUST released his debut studio debut album, Testimony (2014), which features hip-hop staples Rick Ross, Pusha T, and Fabolous. The album's success would subsequently propel AUGUST to win Best New Artist at the BET Awards that same year. His sophomore album, This Thing Called Life (2015), debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard 200 and features the standout single, "Song Cry," as well as appearances from Lil Wayne, and Chris Brown. The following year, AUGUST appeared alongside Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Jeremih, Future and Rick Ross on DJ Khaled's Platinum Certified album, Major Key (2016), with the song "Do You Mind."

 

In 2017, AUGUST began hinting at the imminent release of his third studio album with the releases of a slew of singles that began in January 2017. His latest tracks, "Like You Love Me" and "Don't Matter," were released in the last quarter of 2018, with the latter of which procuring nearly 30 million streams on Spotify.
