New York bassist and composer Mike Parker is joined by 2-time Grammy nominee Frank Parker (Kurt Elling Quartet) on drums and Krakow, Poland's fiery tenor saxophonist Slawek Pezda for the stripped-down follow-up to Parker's 'Unified Theory' quintet project. Together, they take the jazz trio format and inject it with the raw energy of Rock, the sensitivity of Classical, the textural palette of the Avant-Garde, and the rhythmic and harmonic diversity of Modern Jazz. The trio completed a marathon tour in November '14, playing 27 concerts in 27 nights across 4 countries and continue to tour in preparation for a new album
'An ingenious synthesis of all musical genres; a seemingly impossible combination of Charlie Parker with Michael Jackson's groove, sauced up with a defiance worthy of John Zorn... It is all that jazz should be: original, fresh, unpredictable, symbiotic in group improvisation, and all that with a sense of humor.' - Basia Gagnon, JazzPRESS March '15
'For an all-acoustic jazz unit this band transmits an electrifying presence... Parker and associates produce music that is meaningful and inspiring' - Glenn Astarita, All About Jazz
