divideD was founded in 2014. The purpose was to create something unique, catchy but definitely metal-based music which goes beyond the regular formulas of rock/metal music and we decided to add these extra flavors - incorporating modern electronic elements and a fusion of many styles. The other key elements that help us stand out of the crowd are the eccentric stage costumes and a spectacular VJ-set synchronized and played along with the music, giving astonishing imagery to the mood of our music sets.

DivideD signed up for the Rock and Metal GBOB Banat Semifinal (October 29th, 2015 at Daos Club in Timishoara/Romania), so we decided it was time to get to know the Hungarian band a little better.

RiCo for GBOB.com: How did the band members get together?
psyKlone (Daniel Szabo, guitarist, divideD): We have been playing together for years in different bands. The idea of putting together a new band with this style came up from guitarist psyKlone during the spring of 2014 and the creative core of vocalist/lyricist Belmont and bass player Sol is together ever since. The latest addition to the band was the arrival of drummer Stalkher in early 2015.
---
RiCo for CZB.ro: What does divideD mean to you?
psyKlone (guitarist, divideD): We wanted something that's easy to remember and gives the opportunity of many associations. For us, the word divideD connects to almost every aspect of modern-day life and human relationships.
---
CZB: How many gigs have you had; what cities have you played in?
psyKlone (divideD): As we're very strict about not participating in shows where not all the technical requirements are met, we decided to play fewer, but bigger gigs where we are able to give the crowd the whole theatre-like performance with the stage outfits and the HD video-set. Therefore we've had 2 gigs so far, both in Budapest but we're set to go on a domestic tour in Hungary during the Spring of 2016 with Hungary's most prominent rock/metal outfits.
---
CZB: How do you write your music?
psyKlone (divideD): The regular way of working is that singer Belmont and guitarist psyKlone come together with a significant amount of beer and let the music flow, mostly with vocal melodies coming first, then guitars & drum grooves and to these blueprint of songs we add basslines and the icing on the cake which is electronica. Our lyrical themes are inspired by our everyday lives and things most people can relate to but in the future we're going more into sci-fi inspired territories too.
---
CZB: What is one of your most liked songs?
psyKlone (divideD): So far the title track of our debut EP, Ends Of Earth seems like a fan-favourite but a new song called A Way Out is also making its way to become the next big song.
---
---
CZB: What is the Hungarian music scene like in 2015?
psyKlone (divideD): As Hungary is a really small country with countless artists it is very hard to build audience. It is quite hard to reach out to a wider audience coming from the underground but we have confidence in that our songs and our extraordinary live performance will do the trick.
---
CZB: Is there anything that you think should be done better in Hungary to better promote young bands?
psyKlone (divideD): Most bands (including us) choose the DIY-way as there are no companies/agencies that see a perspective in promoting music other then mainstream pop so bands need to expertise in modern tools of self-promotion and the use of social media.
---
CZB: If you could have a superhuman power, what would this be?
psyKlone (divideD): Turning water into beer could be something that would significantly improve our general mood :)
---
CZB: What is your favorite book and your favorite movie?
psyKlone (divideD): my favourite book is Going Postal by Terry Pratchett and my favorite movie is any of the first 3 films of the Alien-saga
---
CZB: What is your aim as a band?
psyKlone (divideD): To reach out to a wide audience and give people the kind of entertainment that they will remember all their lives. We're working hard to be able to build an international career as we believe the material is strong enough to break out of just playing in the sandbox of our close surroundings.
---
CZB: Why did you sign up for GBOB România 2015?
psyKlone (divideD): Because it looked like fun and we wanted to try ourselves in an international enviroment.
