West Coast duo ‘People Under the Stairs’ come to The Jazz Café this May bringing good vibes and a great deal of musical experience!

Named ‘The Steely Dan of Hip Hop’ Double K and Thes One celebrate ‘real Hip-Hop’, citing Freestyle Fellowship, The Pharcyde, Jurassic 5 and The Beatnuts as some of their influences. Their eclectic sound includes jazz, funk & rock breaks throughout that will get everybody dancing.

Laid back one minute and turned up the next, People Under the Stairs promote their own pioneering brand of DIY hip hop – they pick the samples, Mc, DJ and produce all of their own tracks. Despite a lack of mainstream success, they have achieved notoriety in the underground community for close to 20 years and have been on the tongues of true hip hop fans from day 1 and show no sign of slowing down having performed in 40 countries across 6 continents.
